Enough!

Enough of the squabbling, the fighting, the backbiting, the gossiping, the hating, the killing. Haven’t we had enough?

From the walls of the homes to the communities, within countries and with other countries, the fighting, the destroying is escalating, growing hopelessly worse each day.

What do we get out of it at the end of the day?

Are we satisfied? Are we justified?

No, we’re not. That little voice within each one of us is crying out, shamed at what we have become. Alhough we try to tamp it down, it cannot be suppressed. That voice of conscience will never be quieted for long.

Take a look at your parents, look them in the eye and see how they have grown older. Take a look at your children, see how disappointed and discouraged they are. Oh, how big have they grown. Take a look at your neighbour, is he/she still the sprightly person you sparred with each time something happened to cause dissent between you? Time is a ticking. We don’t have long to live. Our life is but a ‘candle in the wind’.

So enough! Isn’t it about time we stopped squabbling like kids, sat down and had a good discussion? Have differences of opinions? Sit down and talk it over. Agree to disagree, if there be no solution for each set of opinions. Stand up and learn to tolerate and live with someone else’s differing ideas to your own. Don’t hate on each other because of it. .

We are all made uniquely and differently from each other. We are not the same. One cannot impose upon another what one believes. Allow others to hold different beliefs, culture or religion from oneself. Learn to live peaceably with it.

Enough is enough.

Love is the key component and answer to all of what ails us. It can be taught. It can be learnt. Just as hate is taught. So can love. So make it your own and say enough.

Enough is a word that holds power. Once invoked it can change so much. That power can be turned to a sprinkling of love for all our fellow beings.

Be nice. Be brave. Be smart. Be safe. Be at peace with one another. And above all, be loving and kind.
